Cows and Bulls
Roland crisscrosses the mountains of the Mont-Blanc massif for entire days in search of
of the ideal material which he will use to create his works. To find the most beautiful minerals,
you need a keen eye, experience and already have the desired shapes in mind.
Given the weight of the rock, its transport is not easy, so its choice is decisive. Only the
parts which it is certain to use will be selected, then transported, often on the back of a man.
Roland has created an appropriate backpack carrying system suitable for a load of 30 to 40 kg over a given time of 1 to 2 hours to extract the rocks from their inaccessible natural environment.
Once in the workshop, the rock will be worked with appropriate equipment, carbide scissors, water polisher, hammer, grinders…
